Emmaus Arts Calendar of Events

The Emmaus Arts Commission is busy developing new events and ideas for 2008-2009. Some of those ideas are Wildlife Art Festival, Swing Dance Concert and 2009 events for the 250 Anniversary of Emmaus. Here is a list of the following events we have planned:

• August 23, 2008 – Swing Dance at the Emmaus VFW. 7-11 pm. More information to follow.

• October 4, 2008 – The 3rd Annual Emmaus Front Porch Walk. Enjoy the quaint neighborhoods of Emmaus, see the beautiful front porches and browse original arts and crafts. NEW! For those looking for new works to display in your homes, the EAC will be hosting a Recycled Art Chinese Auction. Donate such items as prints, lithos, original paintings, photography, pottery or mixed media, sculptures and glass art. Please contact us for donation form and rules for participation. The money raised will be used to continue hosting EAC events in the Emmaus Borough.

• October 18, 2008 – Emmaus Halloween Parade. This year the Emmaus Arts Commission will be marching in the event with a dynamite float.

• November 1st, 2008 at 4:00 pm - 4th Annual Student Horror Film Festival Contest. This years festival will take place at Eyer Middle School in Macungie, PA. Once again students will have a limited amount of time to create/edit a less then 6 minute movie. This years event will be 88-hours to shoot, edit and produce the film. Details to follow, see who won last years event.

• October 31, 2008 – Emmaus Arts Commission 1st Annual Halloween Dance at the Emmaus VFW. The band is yet to be determined. This will be an event to remember with contests, raffles, costumes.

• Febuary 7th-8th, 2009 - 3rd Annual SnowBlast Winter Festival. See last years information.
